- Wind direction: a well-designed shield doesn’t need to cover the whole terrace – it’s enough to protect the side the wind most often comes from.
- Glass thickness and type: the more exposed the location (higher floors, corner terraces), the more important the choice of glass with adequate strength.
- Removability: in some projects it’s worth considering a system that can be partly opened or folded away on warmer, calm days.
