Loft-Style Glass Staircase Railing – Poznań
A glass railing on a concrete staircase in Poznań: four flights, exposed concrete, brick and black details. Without posts, the glass leaves the staircase itself as the centrepiece of the interior.
Project details
- Location: Poznań, Poland
- Construction: frameless glass railing, point-fixed to the side of the stair flights
- Glass: VSG 66.4 laminated from toughened ESG, Optiwhite (low-iron glass)
- Fixings: square point fixings, black
- Handrail: aluminium cap handrail on the top edge of the glass, black
- Scope: four stair flights
- Price: PLN 2,350 net per linear metre
The challenge
The hardest part was the installation: the panes of all four flights had to sit in a single plane. That required an accurate survey and precise alignment of every point fixing.
